About us

Paul Cooper was born in 1952 in Solihull, Birmingham, UK, the only child of Doreen and Alan Cooper.

Having been brought up in Kenilworth, he moved to Warwick in the early seventies and has now settled in Leamington Spa with his wife Caroline. In his late twenties, he first intended to write a book long before computers, spell check, or five children and nine grandchildren. After about thirty handwritten foolscap pages, the project was abandoned, never to see the light of day again.

Now entering retirement and looking for a hobby that can constructively fill a space previously occupied by full-time employment, he and Caroline find that writing works well as that hobby and is an unexpected pleasure.

Getting The Hillingdon Files published has been an exciting landmark and so far feedback has all been positive.

The book has been entered for the Eric Hoffer Award and will appear in the Publishers Weekly in January 2022: And has received a favorable review in the Pacific Book Review, see blog for details.

Caroline and I recently met Judy Brook, the owner of Kenilworth Books who was very helpful and informative, not only about the publishing and marketing of our book locally, she is also very knowledgeable and passionate about books in general. We would like to thank her for her help and also for putting The Hillingdon Files on display in her lovely shop.
**** Judy’s beautiful bookshop in the heart of Kenilworth village, UK. ****

It has also been our pleasure to meet with Mike from Books Yule Love, and Clare from Borzoi Books, two wonderful book shops in the Cotswold villages of Morton in the Marsh, and Stow on the Wold.
